The Dance of the Tree

Experience a form that integrates Kabbalah and Tai Chi, and promotes connection to Spirit, centeredness, and increased energy.

The Dance of the Tree is a Tai Chi-like set of flowing movements that enhances one’s connection to divine energy as described in Kabbalah’s Tree of Life.

The complete form can be done in as little as 4 minutes. The movements are simple, gentle, and done at a slow pace. They are ideal for all age groups. Benefits include: quieting the mind, increased balance and stability, relaxation, and a direct experience of divine energy. It is an efficient, easy-to-learn exercise that integrates mind, body, and spirit.

Components of the one-hour class: Theory of the Tree of Life, grounding and centering exercises, breathing exercises, meditation, learning and practicing the movements.

Levi Ben-Shmuel developed The Dance of the Tree in Jerusalem, Israel in 1999 with Michael Kagan. Michael and Levi had studied Kabbalah under master teacher Hadassah Ben-Yishai in Jerusalem for a number of years in the late 90s.  Knowing his background in Tai Chi, Michael came to Levi with the idea to create a Kabbalistic movement form. Thus The Dance of the Tree was born.

Levi began studying Tai Chi Chuan in Boston in 1985, first under Master Vincent Chu, son of renowned Yang-style Master Gin Soon Chu, and with another Master, Michael Guen. He has taught Tai Chi in Israel and in New Mexico.

In addition to teaching, Levi has done counseled based on Kabbalah. He is also a singer-songwriter, writer, speaker, and co-host of Transitions Radio Magazine. For more information about Levi’s work please visit www.nomad4all.com
